Snow! Sort of! Did it stick? Naw, it just collected for a bit on vegetation and then melted. But check back in five minutes--the weather has been that crazy. When I left for the shuttle, it was grey and barely flurrying. When I stepped out of it, the sky was blue and the sun was bright. Around lunchtime, it clouded over and a blizzard of snow pellets came down. Ten minutes later, clear skies again. The same scenario repeated itself half an hour later while I was eating lunch.
On my way there, I passed the HRC chamugger at the Gate again. We had the same exchange as last time:
"Do you have time for gay rights?"
"I do, I just don't have time for the Human Rights Campaign."
"Maybe we'll win you back."
Except that after the last time, I thought, Am I being unfair? So I did enough online research to convince myself that, no, my assessment of the HRC is still the same. So this time I shot back:
"For starters, you could work on your administrative costs."
I feel for the guy. I actually did some campaigning for the HRCF (as it was still known) back when I was a jobless college graduate. It sucks. I'd much rather work a pizza oven. But sympathy only gets you so far.
