A few flakes do not a winter make

So that's it for the first snow of the season? A couple hours of fluffy flakes and nothing to show for it a day later? There were a few crystals scattered across the beds out back the condo, but that was it. Part of me was really hoping to get these new boots wet. Snow or no, it certainly feels wintry. Zipping the two halves of my coat together still wasn't enough to keep me from feeling the chill yesterday, so today I'm fully layered: undershirt, dress shirt, and sweater.

I pulled out the Christmas box the other day, but so far all that's come out is the cardinal light. (Scooter the Cubs Fan is convinced I put it up only to annoy him, despite my repeated insistence that cardinals in the snow is nothing more than a classic winter decorating trope.) monshu has his own mysterious plans for the mantelpiece, so I've left it to him to ensure its readiness for St Nick's.

The real reason for the Internet

I've been a rather horny puppy of late. At some point, I glanced at the browser and realised that at least five of the nine open tabs led to porn sites. (I've found a rather rich vein of free porn recently, but you can't depend on the same links being there from day to day.) This made me wonder if perhaps I wasn't looking at a cause rather than a symptom. I thought What if I just give up porn for a week and see if that makes any difference?

Then it occurred to me that this doesn't require any special effort on my part: I'll be in St Louis from December 20th through the 27th. It doesn't matter how hard up I am, I'd rather a nut burst than one of my relatives found "Hot Hairy Studs" in their history. It won't exactly be controlled-experiment quality because there will be so much more going on it'll probably leave me too distracted/exhausted to do much with the little boy anyway, but it's something.
