Xtreme weather!

I'm surprised not to see more reports and images of storm damage beyond the flooded streets and flying chairs of carneggy's journal. I hope this doesn't mean that a lot of my friends are actually dealing with destruction instead of relishing their close calls. I've got my own stories to tell, but--in the meantime--do tell me yours!

Diary of a storm

[from memory, so all times are approximate]

15:00 Head up to second-floor lounge for a look outside; watch rain for a bit.
15:10 See lights flicker, head downstairs. Lights fail, emergencies come on (but not in my dept., which would be pitch black if not for windows). Join milling co-workers to await news.
15:15 Loudspeakers announce tornado warning, urge us to take cover "in the basement or in interior hallways". ( Read more... )
