Meet the Candidates Night at my condo yesterday wasn't half as bad as I was fearing. Perpetually Disgruntled Lady brought her capital-A Attitude along, but at least there was no rancourous argument between her and the president of the board. My generally negative opinion of him hasn't changed much, though, but both the new candidates look pretty shiny, so I can vote for them in full confidence.
One of the hot-button issues was the ongoing tuckpointing-and-then-some project. Of the five candidates, two called it "masonary", which is a variant I hadn't heard before. One had a strong Southern hill accent (Tennessean, unless I miss my guess), but the other is, AFAICT, a Chicagoan. Has anyone else heard this pronunciation lately?
