An empty feeling
Yesterday I stayed almost two hours later at work. Not because of some crazy project dumped on me by a higher-up, but because I finally hit a cleaning jag and decided to ride it as long as it lasted. Horrible materials that have been gathering dust for up to two years (good lord, did we get buried in utter crap when they emptied the Geology library) are finally flying out of my section. Well, maybe "flying" is hyperbole, but they're actually leaving. They'll still be gathering dust (believe me, if these were anything patrons cared about, I'd've been goosed long ago), but in the stacks where I don't have to breathe it in daily. It's not as cathartic as I might've hoped, but it still gives me a lift to see the amount of empty space expanded for a change.
It's just amazing what I get done when there are no students around.
