Getting older is never easy
Last night, as he was checking out of a garden store,
monshu's sister said, "Happy birthday! I almost forgot!" I presume that she at least paid for some of his purchases; if not, I declare them the Lamest Family in the World. You can forgive his mother--right now, she can't even remember what time of day it is, much less which day. But I just want to kick his niece and nephew with my steel-tipped boots. The man flies out to cater your wedding and you don't give him so much as a card for his birthday? BAD BLONDE! NO TIARA!
So here I was, thinking he was being toasted over at his sister's while I was struggling to stay awake long enough for him to get back to his mother's house where I could call him and, in reality, he was only running mundane errands. I guess it's fortunate that his expectations are so low at this point that it's hard to further disappoint them. I'll have to work on some special surprise for him when he gets back.
Right now, he should be reading my crappy e-card, which was all I could get out to him on such short notice. (I thought about phoning a florist but the only in that area did such a bad job one Mother's Day that he refuses to use them any more.) I hope he at least gets a kick out of that. Many happy returns, Big Guy!
