Confused boredom

Dinnertime at last! It was delayed due to a small fire three floors below us that was far more annoying than exciting or anything. None of the firemen were worth writing home about, though one or two cops were keepers. The hallway carpet on 4 and 5 is FUBAR, though. Finally, monshu's floor is not the only one with oily footprints! (At least a half dozen cleaning attempts and they're still there.) Perhaps we can have emergencies on EVERY FLOOR and then they'll all match again. Also, they smashed out the resident's windows to throw burning wreckage onto the lawn below us. We have the window open for ventilation and I suspect it may be taking in more fumes from outside than it is releasing from inside.
