Small victories

Why is it so hard to get my hands on MY MONEY?
The culprit finally came forward in the Case of the Disappearing Timesheets (no thanks to that insufferable teenager I paid my 25 cents to!). The member of the Personnel staff who photocopied them before sending them off "just remembered" that she'd dropped them all during the process. Did she think to check through them to make sure none had fallen behind the copier? Of course not. Did some? Of course! So I got my check--and it's $200 lighter than I was told it would be. The head of Personnel speculates that this will be taken care of in a correction to next month's check.
Grrr.
But this was a breeze compared to getting money out of money market account. They wanted to mail me a check, but my home mailbox is not secure (as I learned with those credit card checks several months ago). But they can't send a check to any other address but my home address. This is why I applied for wire transfer privileges, which required filing out special forms. You'll remember that SIX DAYS after I Express Mailed them, they still didn't know where they were. Fortunately, on the 7th day, I got my wire transfer privileges. So I ring them up yesterday to wire some money to my account and the banker tells me, "You updated your account? You have to wait ten calendar days before you can transfer any funds."
WTF? WTFF?
NOWHERE in their documentation--online or otherwise--does it say this. It says that'll happen if you change your address, which is why I've carefully held off on doing that until after the closing.
To their credit, when I squawked and howled, he said he'd see what he could do. He put in the order today, which means it will be processed at end of business today, which means it should be wired Monday midday, which means I may be able to get my cashier's check Monday evening. Failing that, first thing Tuesday morning. I have a 9 a.m. closing, but the bank opens at 7:30 and is only a few blocks from the title company. So I should be alright.
IF nothing else goes wrong.
