"Coke for cocktail night"! That takes me right back. The last time I had Coke in a cocktail was 31 December 1954, with another Caltech freshman, a Venezuelan who like me was on campus over the holiday. We had signed up to sell programs at the Rose Parade, which meant we had to get up at the crack of dawn, but all the same we insisted on welcoming the New Year. The materials at hand were rum & Coke.
