Cardially yore's

Aha! I remember the Bible passage my mother read at my aunt's funeral that showcased her traditional St Louis accent. It was Revelation 21:1, "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea was no more." But in Mom's card-cord merged speech, former is a homophone of farmer. That's not a pair I would ever have guessed could be ambiguous.
