Monday morning PSA

So, yes, I am getting a little sensitive about all the cat-related posting. With all my heart, I do not wish to become one of THOSE people, but on the other hand, some day he's going to end up barfing into my loafers after keeping me up half the night and I'm going to want to remember the exciting days of early infatuation. Besides, when the self-pity kicks in again, y'all're going to be begging for cute pet stories. So brace yourself; there's no avoiding the onslaught, but if you've got suggestions for posts on alternative topics, you can dilute the force of it somewhat.

Freakin' arctic out there today. Every morning on the shuttle, I set down my reading for a moment to survey the mood of the Lake as we make our closest pass. Today I was taken aback to see nothing but jagged powder-strewn ice for at least a hundred yards out from shore. On Friday, all this was a mass of angry green breakers. I guess no more lake effect for a while, huh? Speaking of reading, I'm within a hundred pages of the conclusion of Gate of the Sun and already considering what to tackle next. Mistry? Musil? Morrison? Hamsun? BolaƱo? So many masterpieces, so damnable much time wasted on the Internet.

No apologies needed here. I'm very eager to hear all about the new arrival.

Anything to distract from the death cold, eh?

Even without, I'd still be interested. I miss my cats.

I'm starting to think it might be flu, actually.

I guess I should have posted my approval and encouragement earlier. So just for the record:

OMG KITTENS!!!11!

Trust me, you will not hear any complaints from me, especially given what I'll probably be posting starting Friday.

Don't worry, the cat can pretty much throw up on anything and you'll only be concerned about whether he's really sick or just full of hairballs. Because they are that cute all the time and only become more adorable as their cuteness routines become more familiar and obviously manipulative.

Picked a name yet?

I vote for Robert Musil. As both your next reading project, and as a name for the cat.

Protesting too much?

While I appreciate the desire not to become too cutsy about the cat, nonetheless when I showed muckefuck a note from our friend HelloKitty Woman he asked me why we didn't have any note paper like this!

Irony--maybe so, but I ask you...

As for the cat's particulars see Butsu-chan's Debut.
