Cad anois? : an chéad chuid eile

Bun-Ghaeilge léite ó thús deireadh agam. An bhfuil sé in am dom tosú úr a dhéanamh ar Learning Irish? Nó ar chóir dhom bua ar leisce d'fháil agus m'iPod a lódáil anuas leis ceachtanna as An Ghaeilge bheo agus Pimsleur?

So I've made my way completely through Bun-Ghaeilge. For all its faults, it did teach me a fair bit of new vocabulary and gave me some practice building sentences (fiú amháin má bhí sé orm an t-iomlán díobh a cheapadh fé dhó--an chéad tráth ina chanúint comhréitigh aisteach agus an chéad tráth eile i nGaelainn chóir na Mumhan). Plus, without it, how would I ever have learned such indispensable phrases as:
A mhairnéalaigh, ní maith liom fir atá garbh nó mí-bhéasach, agus, má leanann tú mar sin, caithfidh mé glaoch ar do chomhlacht ar an teileafóin agus gearán a dhéanamh ort! "Sailor, I don't like men who are rough or ill-mannered, and, if you continue like that, I shall have to ring up your company on the telephone and make a complaint about you!"
Armed with that, I now feel fully equipped to approach the wharves of Cobh.

I, for one, will be waiting for your performance in Cobh -- with a video camera. How will I know 'tis yourself?

By my hair--brown at the base, blood-red in the middle, and a crown of golden yellow.

Shíl mé i gcónaí gurb é a mhalairt ghlan a bheadh fíor!

Also useful for finding some nice gentle sailors.
