It was certainly confusing at first, but at the same time it made sense to me that the most common verbs should be the ones to mutate fantastically. You'll get used to it eventually!

I preferred to learn Munster as well, but between the best self-tuition course available being based on Connemara Irish and the fact that the immersion course of the longest duration happened to be based in An Cheathrú Rua, I became a Connemara-head instead. One of my best friends here is a native speaker from Baile an Mhúraigh in West Kerry. I mock her accent endlessly :)
