Because I have no shame and an excess of pride

Geeky one-upmanship:

Name a CD you own that you think no-one else on your friends list does.

Ffa Coffi Pawb Am Byth.

Name a book you own that you think no-one else on your friends list does.

Yn ôl i Leifior. Islwyn Ffowc Elis. (Talfyriad gan Basil Davies.) Llandysul, 1989.

Name a place that you have visited that you think no-one else on your friends list has.

Pont Menai, Ynys Môn, Gogledd Cymru.

For various (possibly crazy) reasons, I've been all over Anglesey. Including a goofy, pointless little trip by train to the Holyhead ferry stop, not to take the ferry, but to tour that little isle off the isle off the isle.

And being in a position to compare, in that category, Iona kicks Holyhead's arse.

If you went by train, you crossed over the Britannia Bridge, which also carries the A55, not the Menai Bridge. The town of Menai Bridge/Pont Menai is a dinky little suburb of Bangor located at the foot of the historic Menai Bridge. I've actually walked its streets; can you say the same?

Hmmm... good point about the Britannia; I guess my second trip into Anglesey doesn't count. Now I'd have to ask [livejournal.com profile] ladytiamat if on our high school UK trip we went via the A545, and so through the town. If so, then two people on your friends list have been through there. Walked its streets? Probably not. I can't say so for sure; I was eighteen, and the trip was a bit of a blur.

In fact, I can't remember if I saw Beaumaris on that trip, or the later. Sadly, the travel journal they made us keep will be no help; I was a fairly surly little teenager in it.

I hate you. Did I mention that?

(Of course I own a copy of Heini Gruffudd's Enwau i'r Cymry, and an 1897 edition of Efengyl Marc.)

Funny, you've never brought it up before. Shwd allet ti 'nghasáu i? Mor hoffus yw fi!

Been there, walked those streets.

Er, indeed.
