Making up

Well, we've done it: monshu and I are officially Booked Up for the rest of the month. Between parties, lunch and dinner invitations, art expeditions, and shopping, we no longer have a free weekend until February.

Once again, it is my intention to host some sort of informal Chinese New Year event, though I'm still waiting for confirmation of the official date of the North Chinatown parade. If it is, in fact, the 4th of February, then I would like to gather a group to watch lion dancers chase fireworks out in the cold. Afterwards, we could all adjourn to chez moi for a traditional agenda of treats, drinks, and games.

Even if, for some reason, this doesn't come off, I'd really like to host a game night. It has been my sorrow for years to only end up dating men with little or no interest in games of any sort. (monshu did show a brief flash of interest in the traditional Korean children's game yut--but only until I beat him.) Squeezing in nearly a dozen sessions of Carcassonne with my family down in STL reminded me just how damn much I miss sitting around a table trash-talking and manipulating tiny coloured tokens.

Time for another funagain.com order methinks, the Carcassonne expansions just keep multiplying. That game has always been one of my favourites.

Game nights are good! I'd play and I'm sure I could convince the hubby to do so as well.

Due note that I managed to keep every stitch of clothing on when I made that last comment. See? I can play "nice."

That cinches it then. It would be nice to see you more than, oh, three or four times a year. (And it makes no difference to me whether you keep your clothes on or not--provided, of course, it doesn't unsettle any of the other guests.)
