Translation request: Kuroda-bushi

I took a stab at this and didn't get very far. Anyone know their way around 16th century Japanese?

古き都に来て見れば
浅茅が原とぞ　なりにける
月の光はくまなくて
秋風のみぞ　身にはしむ

Edit: Romaji for niemandsrose. (Syllables written in kanji are bolded.)

furuki miyakoni kite mireba,
Asajigaharatozo narinikeru,
tsuki no hikariwa kumanakute,

Further Edit:Well, I finally managed to track down a translation (no thanks to you bitches!). As it turns out, the poem appears in Chapter 5.2 of the Heike monogatari. Here it is in McCullough's (somewhat overadorned) translation:

When I came once more to the former capital
I could find only a desolate rush-wild plain
The light of the moon fills all of heaven and earth
The bitter winds of autumn pierce me to the bone

How do you make that out? There's only one sios (siot?) in there...

But then, my knowledge of Korean is fairly minimal, as you'll have seen.

Because Revised Romanisation (which I assume is the transcription you're using) is not a morphophonemic transcription nor a strict transliteration. Thus, results of predictable phonological processes like tensing of obstruents are shown explicitly.

In Yale, I would write /eps.e.yo/, which is a letter-for-letter transliteration of the corresponding Hankul, complete with division into camo. No need to note the tensing of the /s/ because it's completely predictable. However, in RR and McCune-Reischauer, this consonant would be written double.

Revised Romanisation (which I assume is the transcription you're using)

It's an attempt at McCune-Reischauer, though I believe Revised Romanisation is fairly similar.

I don't know the real rules for McC-R, though.
