A votre sender!

This is a shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] sconstant, who, to quote the failure message I got when I tried to reply to her per e-mail, "does not like recipient." Hmph! Really, I don't care if you don't like me as long as you keep up the humourous comments. In any case, I was wondering if you noticed that (1) the Goretti girls made News of the Weird this week and (2) the snippet left out what [livejournal.com profile] gopower considered a crucial detail: That the girls themselves did not catch the guy. In fact, more than leaving it out, the article lies and said they did it themselves.

Ugh.

My dumb ISP likes to randomly refuse email from places. I think they feel they can have a 100% spam-free service if they just never let anyone email me. I do like the recipient! I do, I do!

I guess Chuck Shepherd values haw-haw over complete reportage, but maybe we should have written in with your who-Goretti-was bit, since that's quite lovely, not to mention appropriately weird and haw-haw.

I've always suspected as much. I wish it led me to investigate the details of the cases more often than it does.

As for the St. Maria Goretti bit, it's tough to work it down to thirty words or less, isn't it?

"-- and St Maria Goretti, the namesake of their school? A twelve-year-old girl who refused to submit to a sexual attack."

I guess it's not really the full story, but as we've figured out, some compression happens in NotW.
