Für mich gibt es einen Unterschied. "Fragen nach" heisst "verlangen", "fragen über" aber etwas in der Richtung von "um Erklärung bitten". Ob das eine Nord-Süd-Variation ist oder nur etwas Eigenartiges zu mir könnte ich nicht sagen.
