Ha - of course not. But I bet you knew the answer could never be that simple.

The correct answer varies by location. Towels should fill the available space as fully as possible, and have matched single folds facing forward. In our current place that requires the towel to be folded in thirds lengthwise, then in half twice. If towel sizes cannot be separated into separate piles, smaller towels are stacked on top of larger in neat pyramids.

Yes, I am (mostly) kidding. My husband gets it right at least half the time now...
