Sleeping my way to fluency

Last night I dreamed I was in a small German retail market with several American friends. I was looking for a new pair of thongs, since I kept losing one, and some books. I can't remember what everyone else wanted, just that I pointed out we'd have better luck on some items at a bigger store. Still, before I gave up, I was working out what to say to the staff in German.

Friday night, I dreamt I was watching Catalan television and I couldn't understand the name of the thing the show was about. I asked aloud, "¿Què és una ____?" [can't remember the word now because it was patently bogus] and the next thing I knew I was inside the programme chatting with the presenter in Catalan.

By now, it's very clear what's happening: My own mind is TAUNTING ME. From now on, my trying-to-communicate-with-foreigners dreams will be resolutely ABC--Anything But Chinese. 他妈的!

so ein Mist, da haben wir uns verpasst. Ich habe letzte Nacht geträumt, in Chicago zu sein. Es war merkwürdig, alles war anders als ich es erinnere. Kein Gebäude war mir vertraut, nicht einmal der See war zu sehen. Du bist mir auch nicht begegnet, wie auch, wenn du dich auf Märkten in Deutschland herumtreibst.
