It's only an argument for changing dialects (assuming you mean, changing one's own dialect) if you value membership of a high-status group more than you value membership of your original group. Which may in reality mean valuing a high-status or high-pay job/lifestyle more than your family of origin, childhood/teenage friends and sense of personal identity as rooted in your background.
