I've been a bit chary of doing that ever since a confrontation I had two years. I slapped my hand down on the trunk of a car which was blocking the crosswalk at an intersection. Half a block later, the driver caught up with me on foot and threatened to kick my ass. I don't think there was any real danger of this happening, but it reminded me that there are some pretty loose cannons inside some of those vehicles.
