Back when I was way big into Welsh, I thought it would be simply awesome if someone started making operas of the tales in the Mabinogi. That may still happen (Bryn, I'm countin' on ya, boyo!), but, in the meantime, some dudes at Siânel Pedwar Cymru have apparently made an animated film. Not nearly as impressive as that baffling Japanime trailer everyone's been pimping, but an interesting attempt all the same.

Sweet! Any chance it could come to the U.S.? This reminds me of the Cid animated film which opened in Spain over Christmas. I guess Europeans are finally realizing that animated films make money and that they'd better portray their folklore on screen before Disney does.

The only screening dates listed on the site are for locations in Wales and neighbouring Bristol. What we need in this down is an international animation festival--and soon, so we can see, this, Casshern, and that Spanish film, too!
