I caught up with your journal yesterday. I wish I could have seen Capriccio at the Lyric. There is a YouTube video of a Paris Opera production with some of your ideal cast. Yesterday I was so tired from the week I just left my headphones on for the next hour. It is rather magnificent - and when I opened my computer this morning it was still there - the mirror scene you mention. This staging seems to be quite elegant. The ending rather lovely, a bit unorthodox. I'm curious what you would think.

I've never seen it, but I'm adding to my wish list. The only late Strauss opera I've seen is Die Liebe der Danae at Santa Fe many, many years ago.
