I don't know what Popeilish means but the guy seems like one of those people that Stefan Raab picks out and picks on because of their amateurish clips and "funny" German, - Gerät is "das" Gerät but he keeps calling it "der Gerät". Which, for some reason *is* funny.
It also kind of makes it more specific, I've heard "der Gerät" picked as a name for use among a group of people for a contraption that would otherwise be too complicated to name (namely a wooden thing the technicians had screwed together to block a certain elevator door in order to keep it open long enough for them to load things... "Fahrtstuhltüraufhalteding"?..) They had written "Der Gerät" on it, along with its purpose and a warning not to take it away...
