Were you being ironic about brownies? If not mignardises is current French restaurant speak for any sweet nothings that could be served 'as a compliment' at the end of a posh meal (mini macaroons, truffles etc. usually two or three kinds are served) before bad French coffee, tisane (herb tea) or digestif ;-)
